Annual Walkathon for the Homeless

Saturday November 22, 2008

Join the Charlie's Place Team to help raise money for the homeless. Located near Dupont Circle, this organization helps provide nutritious meals, development classes and other social services to the homeless.

Gather at 8:30 AM between 7th and 12th on the Mall under the big yellow "C" sign.

If you wish to sign up OR donate click here. Charlie's Place needs only 34 more walkers to achieve it's goal!

I ask for your vote on Tuesday...

Have you?
Have you?,
originally uploaded by Olivander.
There is nothing more important than to vote on Tuesday for the candidate that best represents your beliefs and ideas.

My supporters and I care for this neighborhood just as my opponent and his supporters do. I have demonstrated this during the last 10 years by volunteering and supporting DC public schools, local charities and local arts organizations.

If you favor small, local independent businesses, than I am your candidate. If you want a vibrant and interesting neighborhood that relies upon smart-growth planning ideas, than I am your candidate. If you support better public transportation and affordable housing for teachers, police officers and firefighters, than I am your candidate. If you are ready for a change in Dupont Circle, than I am your candidate. I will support your interests if I am elected your ANC commissioner.

Thank you for your consideration,
Doug A. Rogers for ANC 2B09

Did my opponent misrepresent the votes of the full Dupont ANC?

Today an article that concerns me greatly appeared on a blog site that follows our neighborhood.
(Link to Article on GreatergreaterWashington.com)

I am concerned about Ramon Estrada’s public letters written to the HPRB and BZA. I attended these meetings and recall the votes that are in question. I hope the Dupont ANC Commissioners will seek a full investigation and quickly resolve this matter. No Single Commissioner should be allowed to misrepresent the voice of the full Dupont ANC whether they’ve been on the Commission for six weeks or six years.

My opponent continues to say that I am misrepresenting his views. Perhaps he should take a look at himself.

Keep it Local!

I wanted to post a link to a site that is working to support our local businesses.   They have the right idea - that we would prefer Room & Board to consider other locations in the DC area.  And that we want to protect our local neighborhood businesses that have been here and helped turn around our neighborhood.  Please visit their site for an easy way to tell Room & Board no thanks!
